The kind of hurt that feels good

When you ask an expert for feedback, sometimes their words are gonna be painful.

You learn just how much farther you need to go and gain insights into all the things you don’t know.

Soooooo much fun amirite!?!

You might even get pissed off at what they say and feel like you need to justify or defend yourself.

Sometimes you’re just in one of those moods where you value being right over improving (I happened to be in one of these moods from the age of 15 ’til about 25).

The reality is that growth almost always equals pain because you’re venturing outside your comfort zone, allowing yourself to be vulnerable, and exploring the unknown with no idea how it’s going to turn out.

But it’s a risk you ALWAYS ought to take.

Your reward for working your way through this emotionally biased minefield is that you give yourself the best possible chance to realize your dreams and live a life that’s true to yourself.

Notice I didn’t say achieving your dreams was a certainty. Almost nothing in life is certain.

But I will promise that if you aren’t regularly failing at something, you aren’t taking enough risks and you’ll never find your limits.

Which means you just can’t compete with the folks who are consistently growing and becoming stronger. You’ll live and die in the mediocracy of your comfort zone.

The best private poker coaches on the market are the ones who routinely challenge their students and, when their wards inevitably face plant onto the concrete…

They offer them a helping hand, wipe the bubbling snot off their face, and exhort them to keep moving forward.

They understand they’re simply the trusted guide who’s charged with the important task of helping the HERO (You) become the best versions of themselves they can possible be (As an aside, be wary of any coach in any field who positions themselves as the Hero).

If you’d like to explore whether or not I’d be a good fit as the Yoda to your Luke Skywalker, here’s a link to schedule a free 30 minute consult:

Fair warning, my hero training capacity is almost maxed out so I’ll only be accepting 2 new students until the New Year. If those slots get taken, you’ll just have to hang out on Tattooine shooting at swamp rats until I’m freed up.

Talk to you tomorrow,

Coach Brad

P.S. Tonight at 8 pm EST is one FREE hour of group coaching called the Poker Power Hour.

If you’ve never popped in, I’d love it if you stopped by and said hi.
