Confidence – MGM w/ Jason Su

Discovered a new Twitter account:

It’s called “Dudes who are down bad.”

It basically posts screenshots of guys getting shot down and used by their female friends who they’ve been secretly hoping to date.

As a married man who once suffered through this, it’s hard to watch these guys go down in flames.

These guys can’t win.

They don’t have the confidence.

They can read all the books, psych themselves up, and talk a big game, but the truth is that the women see through all that, for one simple reason:

Confidence is a feeling––and not something you can fake.

It’s why 5% of the guys get 95% of the girls.

And it’s always going to be that way.

Poker’s kind of the same.

When you’re in the zone and you’ve been winning, you’re much more likely to win any given session than if you’ve been getting crushed and your confidence is shot. People can feel the confidence coming from your direction, and tend to let pots go so that they don’t have to deal with you that day.

But when you’re not in that place, all of a sudden even the most timid players start coming after you.

The big question:

How can we create the effect we want even when we’re not running hot?

Do the following:

1) Put the time into making sure that your technical game is not only sound, but also improving each day.

2) Learn how to create presence and flow whenever you need it, so that your opponents will pick on the fact that you’re playing with a total, relaxed focus, and want nothing to do with you.
Put these two together and you’ll be king of the hill.

And as a bonus, if you apply #2 to the rest of your life, you might even attract a mate.

Till next time,
