Today’s guest on CPG is the co-author of The Mental Game of Poker, Poker Satellite Strategy, and PKO Poker Strategy… the always witty and hilarious Barry Carter.
Not only has Barry co-authored three revered books in the poker space, he also runs popular blog PokerMediaPro.com and, in his day job, is the chief editor at PokerStrategy.com.
Barry’s dry sense of humor and thoughtful observations about the world makes him one of my personal favorite guests on CPG, which explains why I’ll jump at the chance to have him on time and time again.
Also, there are very few people in the poker world who are totally fine spontaneously jumping on here every couple of months even if they don’t have anything to really talk about…
And Barry is one of those people.
In today’s conversation with the inimitable Barry Carter, you’re going to learn:
– Barry and I’s somewhat prescient thoughts on the awfulness of the IOC (As this was recorded two months back before the Games even began).
– How making decisions at the poker table without understanding the strategy behind them as a whole can spell disaster.
– Why having a target to shoot at almost always means the difference between success or failure.
– And much, MUCH more!
Before you dive into this conversation with Barry Carter, I wanted to let you know I’m currently running a “Free Nuffle” promotion.
If you’ve never had a Bovada account and live in the United States, simply visit freenuffle.com to get step-by-step instructions on how you can get Nuffle for free…
Don’t worry, it’s easy-mode and involves clicking a link, making an account, and making a deposit.
And yes, before you even ask, I do get an affiliate reward if you sign up… that’s why I’m bribing you with a free $199 course.
One more time that link is freenuffle.com.
And now, without any further ado, I bring to you the always entertaining co-architect of 3 poker classics, the great Barry Carter.
